American Culinary Federation
Organization formed in 1929
by the combining of three New York chefs' associations: Chef de Cuisine
Association of America, Societe Culinair Philanthropique and Vatel Club. Made
up of more than 230 local chapters with 20,000 members. Promotes culinary
education, certification and networking opportunities. Activities include: educational resources, scholarships, accreditation,
culinary certification, annual events and conferences and online guides and
video library.
Five levels of membership are
available. Members can belong to a local chapter or the national chapter. Membership
benefits at all levels include: career development and continuing education,
access to competitions and apprenticeship programs, membership in the World
Association of Chefs Societies, free subscription to The National Culinary
Review magazine and discounts for certification, events, products and
services.
